I have been lampworking for over 15 years, and I have loved every minute of it!
Lampworking, for me, is a fascinating art form. Glass is melted at a torch, then wound on a steel mandrel and manipulated with tools. The resulting artifact is annealed in a kiln for strength, and when cooled, it is cleaned thoroughly.
I enjoy the colors, the process and the immediate gratification of what I have created. I have a studio in South Central Virginia, where I create, by hand, all of my glass beads. Each bead is kiln annealed and then cleaned, before being sold as either a set of beads, a focal bead or incorporated into finished jewelry or gift items.
I try to take accurate pictures of my beads, and represent the colors as accurately as possible. Please keep in mind that different computer screens may show different shades of color. Remember this if you are trying to match something exactly. Also, the photographs are greatly enlarged to show the detail.
